Topps created basketball cards initially in 1957, during a stretch from 1969-81, then again from 1992-2009. According to Sports Collectors Daily, 1992-93 Topps Archives was an attempt to cover “popular players from the “missing years” of 1983-1991.“ Archives covered almost an entire decade of players, but “Topps utilized rookie year images” on the cards, which adds some useful contextual information in our attempt to identify the referees.
